The Spoon House is definitely a place to go if you enjoy good food prepared differently from other Italian or noodle restaurants. Even the bread they bring to the table is fresh and chewy. You cannot beat their $1 salads. Their prices on Yelp is not the same as the prices when you sit and eat, but their raised prices are still very good, compared to other restaurants.

Cute little Japanese - Italian restaurant. The carbonara and the spinach & bacon are some of my favorites.

I highly recommend their "dollar salad". It's a pretty large portion for only $1! I recommend dipping their bread in the salad dressing. So delicious!

The Best Fusion Food in Town.. Japanese pasta is the bomb! My girlfriend and I went here for our weekly date night and oh boy she loves it :) The ambiance is perfect for a casual date night since this place is not full on during weeknights dinner time. This place reminds me of mom and pops house that modelled into a restaurant (cozy and homey). My girlfriend recently went to Japan so this reminded her how polite and helpful are the people by their customer service. It is on point! and I cannot think of a better place in mind.

I ordered their shitake mushroom seafood pasta, which is sooo good and fresh. It has furikake seasoning on top and a lot of shreded seaweed. The clams are flavorful and fits right on this light pasta. Their pasta is not heavy at all and felt pretty lean after eating honestly. Unlike the typical Italian pasta, which is heary and feels like having a food coma after, this fusion dishis have light ingredients without overpowering the sauce flavor.

My girlfriend ordered a similar version of their seafood pasta which is a sea urchin/ squid ink. It has a similar texture to my dish and a lot of seafood base flavor on it. She loves it! and I will take that as a successful date night :) We orderd their bottled Saporro beer after for our refreshment to down the flavor and to finished up our meal. Overall, I love this place and a great recommendation to all pasta lovers.

PS: They only have 2 locations: Here in Gardena, Cali and Tokyo.. so that was a treat :)

Good atmosphere, everybody was laid back and friendly.  Good prices you won't go broke here getting ripped off like a lot of other places!  It's in a Japanese neighborhood with working class people.
A lot better than some of the expensive taco places that I have been to where they charge a grip for their low quality food and high prices for small portions!
Real clean here too.  It's worth the time to eat at places like this when you come to Gardena. The bill was 30 dollars for two people.

Spoon House is a Japanese style Italian restaurant. A gem in the Torrance area! They have both traditional Italian pasta dishes and Japanese style Italian dishes.

We got the spicy tomato and the Japanese style clam sauce spaghetti. The menu is broken down by the type of sauce and toppings. Most dishes are served over spaghetti but there are some typical a Japanese diner style dishes like "special steak dinner" amongst others.

Service is quick and a lot of tables have a view of the open concept kitchen. Pricing is also reasonable with most dishes being under $15 per plate. The one dollar salad is a great value and good for sharing!

Can't recommend this place enough especially if you are craving for the unique twist that Japanese Italian provides.

Good Japanese pasta. You can buy the bread and spaghetti ready to cook at home.  I wish they also sell sauce.

Such a cute restaurant with a lot of parking in the back! You can sit at a table or you can sit at the counter and watch them make all the delicious pastas!

Now on to the food! We got the cod roe cream uni pasta which was delicious! Huge pieces of uni and perfect with a little cheese on top! Came with a generous amount of seaweed topping!

We also got the spoon house special spaghetti with wieners, it was like a red sauce with onions and carrots and it was so so so good! Nice spice level and good flavor! The meals came with bread to soak up all of that delicious sauce!

Long time patron of this delicious, cozy & friendly restaurant. Japanese pasta that's cooked perfectly every time. The dining area and bar seating is limited, so plan ahead. Street parking is usually plentiful.

It was my first time back at Spoon House in so many years! I haven't been since I was a kid but this is a staple restaurant in the area. They had a small parking lot behind the restaurant with plenty of parking! There are not a lot of larger tables inside but there is bar seating which is nice! We went on a weekday night and it was pretty full but the servers put 2 tables together so we could all sit together instead of at the bar.

They also have their menu in English and Japanese which is nice! They have a wide variety of pastas to choose from. I got the classic bolognese because I wasn't sure exactly what I was in the mood for and it was a great choice. We also all got the dollar salads, I should've ordered more! Their dressing is so good, I love a good citrusy dressing. My friend ordered the shiso pasta/spaghetti and that was really good too! The shiso flavor wasn't too strong.

I forgot how great Spoon House is!
